Privacy Policy for Edifio
This Privacy Policy applies to the Edifio application and related Edifio services.

1. What Edifio is used for
Edifio is a workforce and construction-operations application used to manage contracts, work attendance, work reports, assignments, and related field activities.
For app-store identification purposes, the Android application is published under package identifier cz.edifio.
2. Data we may collect
Depending on how your employer or organization uses Edifio, we may process the following categories of data:
- Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, company affiliation, and login credentials.
- Work-related records, such as contracts, task assignments, attendance entries, activity logs, notes, and timestamps.
- Location data, including foreground and background location, when location-based attendance or geofence features are enabled.
- Attachments you submit in the app, such as photos, files, and signatures.
- Technical and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the service, including app diagnostics and crash reports.
- Usage analytics that help us understand app reliability and feature usage.
3. Why we process the data
We process personal data in order to:
- provide and maintain the Edifio app and related backend services;
- authenticate users and manage access rights;
- record attendance, workplace arrival and departure events, and other work-related activities;
- support contract administration, reporting, and internal operational workflows;
- send operational notifications related to the app's functionality;
- monitor performance, diagnose failures, and improve security, stability, and usability.
4. Location and background location
The mobile companion app Edifio may request access to your device's precise location, including while the app is running in the background. Location data is collected and used for the following specific purposes:
- Geofence-based workplace notifications. The app defines virtual boundaries (geofences) around registered work locations from the active contract. When your device crosses a boundary, the app records the event and will attempt to send a notification confirming the arrival or departure. Background location access is required so that these events can be detected even when the app is not actively open on screen.
- Work-hour verification and reporting. Recorded location events are used to generate attendance reports and work-hour summaries for your employer or contracting organization, helping ensure accurate records for payroll, project billing, and compliance purposes.
Location data is collected only when the permission are granted by you. It is not used for advertising, sold to third parties, or shared beyond what is necessary to provide the service as described in this policy.
The app does NOT continuously track your location in the background.
Location permissions are requested at the operating-system level and you can grant or revoke them at any time in your device settings. If location permissions are not granted, some app functionality will be limited.
5. Sharing of data
We do not sell personal data. We may share anonymized data with service providers that support the operation of Edifio, such as cloud hosting, diagnostics, analytics, notifications, and storage providers, strictly to the extent necessary to provide and secure the service. We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect legal claims and the security of the service.
6. Data retention
Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the Edifio service, satisfy contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of record and your organization's configuration.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the data entrusted to us.
